It’s forecast to be the hottest day of the year so what am I planning? To go caving. Yes, for research purposes, I am venturing underground to soak up some atmosphere and take some pictures so I can imagine myself in the dark of an underground cavern while basking in the heat of the summer sun. Actually I don’t generally do the basking as although I have dark hair (or I used to anyway), my skin has been blessed with the ginger gene. But you get the picture. We might look (relatively) normal on the outside but writers are usually somewhere else in their head. And if that means being in the shelter of a cave on a sunny day then so be it.
I’ve left the 10,000 word rubicon behind and I’m pushing onwards into the second act!
