Middle Grade Adventure Week 6

Chapter 9 has just been delivered. I’ve been a bit distracted working on a picture book text as well this week so I was a bit slow in really cracking on. But I was spurred on by the encouragement of Sarah Broadley and the other Nearly Nanos on facebook. The regular posts of the ups and downs of writing make you feel like you’re not in this alone. When you know other people are out there beavering away, it makes you think you should be giving it a go too. When I did eventually knuckle down to finish, chapter 9 arrived quite painlessly. It made me think I should have done it sooner! It was eventually pieced together from bits written on the train, at a farm park, early in the morning before my daughter woke up and while eating my lunch on a walk round an estuary. I hope it doesn’t read like the patchwork it is! Onward to chapter 10 and happy holidays to the many other writers out there who are also going to be fitting in the odd ten minutes scribbling around childcare and holiday fun.
